Chronology of cameras Canon
The Canon EOS D30 is considered the first digital SLR entirely manufactured by the brand. Its lifespan was short (2000 to 2002), likely due to rapid advancements in sensor technology.
It features a design similar to Canon's film EOS cameras, both ergonomically and in mode selection. Advanced settings, which are now accessible through menus, were controlled by two dials, the first located next to the shutter release for easy access, and the other on the back of the camera.
The rear screen is only 1.8 inches, and the menus it offers look poor compared to current cameras.
The EOS D30 accepts all EF lenses released since 1987, providing a logical continuation from film EOS cameras. It does not accept EF-S lenses. The battery is a Canon BP-511 or a CL 611L at 7.4 volts and 1.5 amps.
In 2001, it was sold without a lens, with a 16 MB CF card, and the BG-ED3 booster (containing two BP-511 batteries) for 3582 euros.
